Can We Talk Again?

The Anglican Family Problem

The Anglican family has a problem about same-sex unions and gay bishops. It's got so bad that some people are talking about breaking up the family.

Do we really have to break up the family over this? We've talked about this a number of times and we need to talk again before our Diocesan Synod this November.

We're holding our second chili supper and discussion forum on Sunday evening Oct. 15 to continue talking about the Anglican church's family problem.

Conversation begins (approx. 1 hour)

You'll recall that we held the first part of this discussion on May 28, when six members of the parish told the story so far--how Vancouver Anglicans started blessing same-sex unions, the Episcopalians in the United States consecrated a gay bishop and then Anglicans around the world started to wonder whether this church could hold together.

The Episcopalians in June stood their ground. At the Winnipeg General Synod meeting in June 2007, Canada's Anglicans have to decide where they stand.

What do you want your church to do about this? Diocesan Synod meets in November and our synod delegates need to know. Pray for guidance. Hear the discussion. Listen respectfully. Express your considered views.
